Guns, Undies and socks… Don't you know that’s all you really need.

april1815april1814

The day started off with a big pile of shizt on the floor. Wyatt didn't make it to the potty in time but he did clean him self off (sorta) before asking for help. (even though I then had to scrub the floor, potty and him after. ugh.) So we ended up taking a morning bath.

After all that wonderfulness… we (by we I mean just him)  lounged around in our undies for awhile as we played guns.

We spent the rest of the morning running errands in the rain. (and by errands I mean shopping for what I want knowing that Cody will be pissed at me later for it. When really all we needed was shampoo and a hair cut. Damn, Target is a money suck.)

To run these “errands” we of course had to dress up as a super hero. Who then turned into a pirate. Who then turned into a “Star Wars bad guy who wears a cape that looks like Darth Mal.”  Duh.

We tried on a ton of sun glasses at Target plus found some cool “worms” in our driveway when we got home.

We ate lunch, played with the cats, read, and blew so many bubbles that I had to go into my secret stash to refill Wyatt’s joyous little bottle that he spilled on me, him, the cats and the sidewalk.

By then I was done. Thank god, I put chicken in the crock pot because by the time it was dinner I was completely overfilled with the amount attention I gave Wyatt today. (that kid demanded a lot today.)

Sigh.

But, needless to say it was a good day off.

**Side note as I was finishing this post. Wyatt woke up with a runny nose, cough, diarrhea and a fever. Now all the attention he needed makes sense. God, I hate when that happens.**

**Double side note, the father in law is home and doing well. Thank you again for all your prayers.**

Momma's Bed

As most of you know Wyatt is sick.  He has had a fever of 102 since Friday plus a cough and a horrible runny nose. :(
Since he has been sick he has been sleeping in my bed. which I of course give willing especially when he tells me that "mommas bed make me ill etter."
Right now he is in there taking his nap with piles of blankets to comfort him.

He of course had to have blankey (shown in the middle picture below) plus second blanket which is some random soft blanket that he gave the name "second blanket" too.(which is shown on top in the picture above.)

I was just doing what I thought was best.

2 nights ago Wyatt woke up at 3 in the morning screaming. I knew at that moment he was sick.

Great I thought.

I hate having a sick child. Its seriously the worse thing about being a mother because not only are you up at all hours of the night wiping runny noses and cleaning up throw up or holding a child who has a fever over a 100 but not being able to take that pain away from your child is an awful feeling.

You feel helpless.

When Wyatt's sick I tend to worry more then I ever do. I think the worse things possible.

Did I give him the right medicine?

Was it to much?

What do I do if…?

Is he going to have some type of sickness that he will die in the middle of the night from? and I wont be there for him?

Now I know that's a bit dramatic but I seriously think all those things and more. I check on him multiply times in the middle of the night just to make sure that he is still in fact breathing.

Last night around midnight Wyatt woke up ready for his next dose of Tylenol as when I went in there he was hot to the touch (more than he has been all day.) So I took his temperature… it said his temp was 106.00! With out hesitation I screamed at Cody that we needed to go to the ER.

Cody being “money minded” told me to take his temp again and that we should wait and try to cool him down with nice wet rags.

This is very sensible but I didn't hear one word of it. All I thought was “Stop trying to SAVE money! His temperature is too high WE NEED TO GO NOW!” so I disagreed with him and made him take us to the ER.

Now of course we get there and they take his temp and say that he is only at 101. Which made me feel like an idiot. Why did my thermometer tell me other wise? then doctor then proceeded to treat me like I was stupid and explained when I should be worried and when not too.

I KNOW THIS!! I KNOW THAT A FEVER IS JUST INDICATING THAT HE HAS AN INFECTION!!! but I also know that if it gets to high that it can cause damages. That's why when I read his temp and it said it was 106 I came in!!!!!! UGH!

AS I look over to Cody when the doctor left to get us some ear infection meds and he had this look on his face of “I TOLD YOU SO.” which made me feel even worse.

I think the reason why I panicked was when Wyatt was 2 months old he had a fever of 101 for a couple of days and when I finally (AFTER WAITING MIND YOU!!) took him into to see his doctor which then he immediately checked him into the hospital. He was there for 4 days for a HIGH FEVER!!!

He was poked and prodded it was awful. so I feel like I will do anything and everything to avoid this from happening to him again.

I do agree I should of listened to Cody and tried to cool his temperature down but I didn't. And yes now we will have to pay a higher amount of money for an ER visit then if I just waited a little longer and took him to see his doctor in the morning.

SORRY! I was just doing what I thought was best.

As we took Wyatt home from the ER I calmed down a little to recognize that yes I was wrong to be over dramatic and yes I should of did what Cody suggested and have a learned from this? yes but will I not panic if it happens again? I can not promise anything.

I guess I can only try not to next time.

Yellow Balloons

For the last couple of weeks Wyatt
has had an awful cough but last night was the worst. He cough so hard that it woke him up and he wouldn’t go back to sleep unless I was holding him. Now I am fine with holding him all night but his cough was so bad that it woke me up multiple times which I didn’t like because I was already uncomfortable in the first place.
My head was half way on my pillow and half way off my arm was dead asleep because I was holding Wyatt so he wouldn’t roll off the bed and I had to sleep on my back. And I DO NOT LIKE SLEEPING ON MY BACK. So waking up every few hours didn’t help the situation.

I took Wyatt to the doctor in morning to see if we could do ANYTHING for his cough because I didn’t want to do another night of this and come to find out he has bad ear infection and also bronchitis.
So now I’m wondering to myself “how did I let this go on for so long that he ended up with bronchitis?” I feel awful

Did I not notice the signs?
What where the signs?
Were there any?
Was I so wrapped up in myself that I didn’t realize that my child was sick?

These are the question I ask myself each time Wyatt is sick because I feel like I should of paid attention to every runny nose and small cough that he got so I could have prevented any sickness coming to him because I don’t want him to have to go though any type of pain especially if I could of prevented it and being sick is on the top my of the list.

Now it brings me back to the times when my own mother was this big blanket of comfort that I would cuddle in when I didn’t feel well. She would hold me, put cold rags on my forehead and sing lullabies. This is the one she is known for and the one I sung to Wyatt tonight to put him to sleep.

"When I grow up I want to be a mother and have a family: one little, two little, three little babies of my own. Of all the jobs for me, I'll choose no other I'll have a family: four little, five little, six little babies in my home.
And I will love them all day long and give them cookies and milk and

Balloons and cuddle them when things go wrong, and read them stories and sing them silly tunes. When I grow up, if I can be a mother how happy I will be: one little, two little, three little babies I can love.
And you will say each sister and each brother all look a lot like me: four little, five little, six little blessings from above."

Mom I just want to thank you for being my security blanket when I was sick And I
hope Wyatt gets comfort from your lullaby like I did when I was young.
