Hello Zander.

Months ago Kayla from struttin my stuff photography asked me to participate in a project called wandering the world with Zander to help the CFPT Foundation. I of course agreed and today finally little Zander arrived on our door step. Wyatt was so excited to have a new little friend for awhile.

We read through all the stories of where he was before and what adventures he had. We made plans of our own and we introduced him to all of Wyatt’s stuff friends. He is going to be truly loved while in our home.

!0 Things we will do while Zander is here:

  1. Visit the Christmas Village and see Santa Clause.  [DONE]
  2. Make a ginger bread house together
  3. Celebrate Sinterklass.
  4. Eat at the most amazing hamburger place ever. [DONE]
  5. Go on our famous walking adventures
  6. Have a movie night
  7. Make Christmas Cookies together
  8. Go Christmas Shopping
  9. Visit the Ogden Canyon and see the amazing snow.
  10. Teach him how to ride a tricycle.

I of course will document all of our adventures we will have with Zander, and I hope you all take a minute to read more about the foundation. Its a great cause and I am glad to be a part of it.

If you didn't know by now I have a little photo biz and my June completely book up this year. So I have been a busy bee between working my full time job at Sears, being a momma and wife (almost 4 years as one! anniversary is coming up!) I also get to spend my days meeting some wonderful people. Today I was lucky to spend my time with The Oge Family. They were absolutely wonderful. Adorable kids, a fun dad and a mom with such a kind spirit. I would shoot this family any day. They were a photographers dream. They listened had fun and very photogenic! Just going through their photos tonight I kept more then I deleted each one different and fun! So for "texture" this week is a little of both. The wall behind them is a great texture but I also added some to give it more depth... Oh I adore this photo!
So now I think you all should check out my WEBSITE that I started a month ago and tell me what you think plus if you haven't already "liked" my photog Facebook page PLEASE DO! ;)
Dani's Family Session
Also if you noticed last week I added a new feature to Texture Thursday... by coming back and "liking" your favorite texture post I will now be highlighting the one with the most likes each week. So please keeping checking back though out the week and click that like button!
Last week the post with the most "Likes" was...
I would agree with you guys. What a stunning photo and the texture adds so much more to it! I would hang this on my wall for sure.

This time I added texture...
When I did this family shoot the other day it was raining. Raining hard so when I started to edit the photos I wanted to show how dramatic the clouds were but it was over exposed so I added a bunch of textures just on the sky to give it that feel I wanted. I looove how it turned out! Don't you?

her house needs to smell purple.

Its been raining here non stop and in some parts snowing. Yes, we still are getting snow... Our ski resorts say that they will be opened on the 4th of July... That's just CRAZY.... plus they say that pretty soon the dam will overflow which will cause a TON of flooding. Eek... that is no bono.
And of course today I had to deal with the rain and do a PHOTO SHOOT anyway and by the end of it I was covered in mud.  COVERED people. Which was my fault because I slipped and fell straight into a mud pile. ha-ha... Good thing I was shooting my friends family or I would have died with embarrassment.
After that we went up to my mom's to have a nice family dinner plus to make "Welcome Home!" signs for my Sister who is on her Mission and will be coming home on Wednesday.
While I was there I took some pictures of my mom's lilacs that's on the side of her house and while I was taking the pictures Wyatt jumped in rain puddles and begged that we'd give grandma the lilacs.
"pleeease momma!"
"Why?" I asked

Doesn't everyone's?

10 photo tips on how to get a toddler to smile.

may2011unionstation
So the other day I took Wyatt out to play at the local train station but little did he know that it was my secret plan to turn this "fun time" into a mini session.
may2011unionstationblog1may2011unionstationblog2
I take a billion photos of Wyatt but I never take ones that I can give out to family and hang on my walls (well some of the others I would hang on my walls but you know what I mean right?) So after a looong nap and a goood lunch we headed off to the train station.
may2011unionstationblog6may2011unionstationblog5
Wyatt was all smiles until I pointed my camera in his face.
"ugh mom no camera!!"
 may2011unionstationblog7
Which I don't blame him because who wants a camera in their face 24/7
may2011unionstationblog8
so I had to use my tricks...
But first the key word is PATIENTS PATIENTS PATIENTS...
  1. Talk to him about what he did that day or the day before.
  2. Talk about his favorite show/toy/color etc.
  3. Sing embarrassing songs
  4. Make silly faces at him
  5. pick your nose to get a laugh (seriously works every time.)
  6. look him in the face while your talking to him but keep snapping photos this way he thinks your not taking pictures.
  7. Put him on top of things so he's "super tall" or let him hold a rock or something else.
  8. let him explore and snap candid photos.
  9. have a couple of time outs and just play with him
  10. when all else fails pay $1 per smile. (but then you will have to take photos of the dollar "Sheesh mom."- rolls his eyes)

Come back later this week to see more photos from Wyatt's Mini session as well as some before/afters of those photos... Also leave comments on what you do to get your kid to smile.
Never can go wrong with more tips! :)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

SOOC:
SONY DSC
I was so stoked that I got These that I didn't touch them (besides putting my copy write on it.) I didn't want to take away from the photos! (This is also for the Happy Monday Challenge)

Yesterday my sisters and I celebrated mothers day with my mom by going to the Tulip Festival. It was a blast!! You don't realize how many different tulips there are until you go and see millions of them. It was a wonderful day.
Isn't it Ironic:
SONY DSC SONY DSC
That being a photographer I am some how raising a little model...  (does that work?)
