Down by the river…

“All rivers, even the most dazzling, those that catch the sun in their course, all rivers go down to the ocean and drown.
And life awaits man as the sea awaits the river.”
Simone Schwarz-Bart

It was defiantly a summers day today…

It was so hot that the air stuck straight to you which made me think how I NEEDED to find a place to dip our toes into.

ASAP

Now Wyatt he tends to not like being in the water when its not a bath tub filled with bubbles so cooling off at the local splash park never turns out how I plan so the next best thing to do for free was to take him to the Parkway in Ogden to play along side the river.

* You-capture photo I want to submit is above. *

At first he hesitated and would get upset when his shoes would get wet… if you notice in this picture below he leans WAY over to put the rocks into the water so his feet wouldn’t get wet. If by chance they did he would say

“Mama… ahhhh ett toes  (insert crying/panicking here.) ETTTT!!”  and would run away from the water.

What a silly goose.

He did soon forget all about it when he discovered how fun it was to through BIG rocks into the river and see the water splash.

But he DID get upset that his “hams” would get “errrty”

“ick mama Ick errty hams” he would say. as he held them up for me to see.

I just laughed and enjoyed how nice the water felt… OHHH I could have totally done some body surfing if Wyatt would have been okay with getting “Ett” and “Errty.”

I guess having my feet {well LEGS} dipped into the water would have to do…

Hey I did get to take in a beautiful view while I was at it.

  1. Oh he is so cute. Sometimes I really wish I grew up here because I don't know where any of these places are. Is there really a splash park nearby? Or do you mean Classic Waterslides? I've never been there either of course but I think someone told me it doesn't have pools, just waterslides and 'splashing' lol.

  2. Yes there's a splash park behind the Ogden athletic club and one I think in Riverdale some where. and I have not yet been to the classic water slides but I do plan on going to it. soon... so I will tell you how it is. but the parkway is next to the dinosaur park and we just walked a little way until we found a shallow enough river bed to play in.
