Surprisingly this year I didn't really take out my camera instead I sat in the cool grass as the warm breeze lightly touch my skin and listened to the quite conversations. When I did decide to go and get my camera out of its bag that was in the spare room the light was hitting this old piano just perfectly that I had to snap a photo of it. That is completely SOOC (besides making it b&w) isn't it wonderful. awe.

then I took one picture of her flowers.
What I didn't take a photo of was all that yummy food or the cute decorations she had every where or one of her and the rest of the family. I did however take candid photos of Wyatt in the sandbox (where he stayed for hours) and Wyatt playing with his daddy.

And then… I forced Wyatt onto the tire swing so I could take these shoots…

He hated it at first but then cried when I tried to take him off. ha-ha!
(this is Wyatt’s Grandma Christensen {Cody’s mom} and our niece Mercedes playing with glow sticks.)

and a few non picture taking hours later it was time to light off the $90 worth of fireworks Cody and I bought.

After we “blew” (ha-ha) through those we scrambled to the front of Grandma’s house to see the city's fireworks that just so happen to be at the school right in front so we get an excellent sit every year.
This year I didn't want to capture the same old firework shot so I ended up shooting almost all of them this way to get gorgeous bokeh.

It was a great fourth of July and actually I'm glad I didn't have my camera out the entire time it was good to just be.
