In Remembrance of Officer Fancom

I never meet this Officer and really I don’t know a whole lot about him. All I do know is that he brought together a community. It’s just to bad that we had to come together over his death. I live in Ogden Utah and on January 4 police went to serve a warrant on house very close to where my sister and her husband live.

As the officers entered the home they came under fire where 6 officers were shot and early the next morning Officer Fancom died. This is the only Ogden police officer since 1963 I believe that has been killed in the line of duty. So it was a shock to all of the Ogden community.

So on Wednesday one of my sisters joined Wyatt and I at his funeral where thousand attended. There were no words to express it. I was in awe at the thousands of flags that were lined a long the streets and the thousand of people who stood next to them in complete silence for over 2 hours as we watch the procession pass. It was so humbling.

  4. That is so sad. It is a blessing though that it has been so long since something like this happened there. It seems to be more and more common these days.

What a post- sent chills through my whole body. My hubs is a fire chief  here & I almost lost him in the line of duty 6 years ago &  we have very close ties to our officers here.  They work very closely. I am so sorry to hear this- it pains me deeply. You captured those honoring him so beautifully.

  6. Beautiful and moving tribute to a fallen officer.  So sad that these things happen.  I hope they caught the guy who did it.
