* I’m a little late linking up but hey I just needed a day with nothing to do but be… okay sheesh… so here are the few places I Linked up to today ( a day late. but who really cares right?) Leigh Vs Laundry, My3boybarians, seven clown circus, jolly mom, go graham go *
Here in Utah we celebrate the “days of ‘47” which is a celebration of the arrival of the first pioneer settlers in the salt lake valley read more about it here. But really to me its all about parades, going to the rodeo and the annual Weber State firework show.
This year they did the firework show early so we were kind of thrown off and had to hurry and save a place at midnight the night before so we could get a good spot.
Which luckily we did it was right next to the water and across from us was where the band would play so it was perfect!
Wyatt enjoyed the spot we found because he loved watching the birds play in the water…
he would say “Grammy what da? oohhh oook birds in sky” as he would point to them.
Now the whole purpose of saving a spot is to come way before the firework show even starts and hang out on the blankets to catch up with family members and friends that we don't see to often…
and eating way to many snacks that it turns into you dinner. (Wyatt loved that idea.)
plus we got to enjoy the perfect summer weather…
But I would have to say one of my top favorite parts of the day was when I got to watch my dad and Wyatt sing and dance to the concert band that they had there for entertainment together…
Loving marching band music some how seems to run in their blood its like my dad plays in a concert band or something. * I say that sarcastically since he does (he plays the drums and he is AWESOME!)
Watch this to see what I mean.
As the sun started to set Wyatt seem to get more and more excited… he would say mama fire erks in sky BOOM! yes Wyatt the fireworks will shoot into the sky and it will sound like a boom. good job. I’d say back and back and back because he would tell me over and over and O V E R again… and he still tells me everyday all about them.
It grew dark and the band did its annual cannon ball shoot off which indicated that the fireworks will becoming up next all the lights turned off…
and we enjoyed the show we have been waiting hours for…
Wyatt did get scared when they first started to shoot off as you can tell but he soon warmed up to them and kept waving and waving to them. it was so adorable.
Here's the finale enjoy!
