Oh my son.

Always lost in a daydream. I am always lost in a daydream. Lost in the feel of the wind in my hair. Lost in the different colors of blue that the sky turns depending on when and where the sun hits it. My toes get squished against the freshly green dewed grass every time they get a chance. But my fingers twitch for the chance to feel the shutter click on my camera.

Click. look. click again. My eyes notice more now, then they did a year before. My eyes see differently, then they did a year before. My mind thinks more with my eyes then they did a year before.

I notice colors, I notice light, I notice things that are uniquely out of place then I did a year before.

I see you more differently then I did before.
My son. Oh, my son. You have grown.
Grown.

Your fingers are longer and your hands carry more dirt then they ever have. You eyes see more then they did a year before but now your brain understands what you are seeing and you ask why. You question every little move an ant makes or every sound that your ears hear.
Oh my son. You have grown. Your legs are much longer and they carry you much further then they did before. You now know what it is like to run and be free and I hope you don’t forget what that feels like.

Oh my son.
As the days go on you are becoming your own little man and the kisses are less frequent and the hugs are becoming rare. But my dear I will be here.
I will be here.
Here to old you when you decide that you want those rare hugs and the sloppy kisses.
I will be here when you go to school for the first time.
When you make new friends. When you loose those ones.
When you have your first crush. When you have your first heart break.
When you will tell me that you hate me or that I don’t understand you.
When you get married. When you have your own kids.
I will be here.
Always.
Handing out my hugs and giving you the billion lost kisses that you will need. Because Son I love you and WILL love you more each day more each year more each second. More then the last second.
Oh my son. You are my world. My day dream. My everything.
