It always scary when a love one goes in for surgery but even more so when its your mom.
Yesterday around 9:30am (but wasn't seen until 12:45) my mom headed to the hospital to get back surgery. They had to remove a damage disk fuse some vertebra and took off some arthritis on her nerves. She was in surgery until about 4:30.
The surgery went really well. My sister works at the hospital as a surgical tech so she recommended to my parents on which doctor should do the surgery and also she hand picked the nurses who would be in there assisting. So needless to say she was in good hands.
I visited her late last night and she was doing great. A little loopy on the morphine but she still had her same old spunk. My dad said she did very well overnight with just a little pain and this morning she said she wanted to get up and take a shower but has to wait for physical therapy.
Please keep her in your prayers to have a speedy recovering... they do say she'll be in the hospital for about 3 days so I will keep you all updated on how she's doing.
